Zach, a high school junior and lifelong martial artist, founded Addressing the Crisis of Attention Through Martial Arts inspired by his own journey in Tae Kwon Do. Having trained since age six and earned his Black Belt, he has experienced firsthand the focus, discipline, and confidence that martial arts can build. Zach created this community initiative to share those benefits with others and support families seeking tools for greater attention and well-being.
The Martial Arts and Mindfulness Club will be offering a free community workshop designed to help children and families build focus, discipline, and mental resilience in today’s distracted world. Through simple breathing techniques, mindfulness exercises, and age-appropriate lessons inspired by martial arts principles, participants will learn practical tools for attention, goal-setting, and self-regulation.
This project puts our values into action by offering an inclusive, family-centered workshop that supports the well-being of children and their caregivers. Grounded in care, responsibility, inclusion, and honesty, the program welcomes everyone—regardless of financial means, ability, or experience—and models respect, self-awareness, and accountability. Through mindful practices and a connected resource fair, we aim to strengthen families, foster community, and provide accessible, ongoing support.
